Persuasion Power: Using Strategic Language to Build Relationships and Solve Problems
How many times have we gotten boxed into confrontations where we move one step forward and two steps back with students? Perhaps we achieve temporary compliance, but we lose goodwill and cooperation in the process. The problem goes underground and the relationship suffers.
In this session, you will
learn and practice proven techniques for gaining cooperation from difficult people by using skills of persuasion.

About the Facilitator
Rick Lewis is a Regional Coordinator for Peaceful Schools International in South Florida. Rick has served as the Training Coordinator in the Department of Safety and Learning Environments in the School District of Palm Beach County, FL, since 1993. Prior to that, Rick worked as a counselor and educator in a wide variety of therapeutic settings. Much of his work in Safe Schools has focused on conflict resolution and mediation and five of his works have been published by the Peace Education Foundation. He has trained thousands of students and staff in peace skills, diplomatic intervention, persuasion, and effective communication. Rick loves his work and always says, "I have the best job in the District."
